    I bought this CD a few month ago to replace an old Sony 5-disc CD player I found and had been using. It was very affordable for the quality that it has and it does everything that I needed.

      Do I need a separate receiver & speakers or can I connect this to my existing shelf stereo system? What I have is a Memorex shelf system that includes speakers, turntable, AM-FM stereo radio, cassette player, and 5-disc CD changer. The CD changer no longer works so I'm looking to replace it.

        Unfortunately, no. This unit will not play DVD or any other video formats. It is purely an audio component. We do offer DVD changers if you are interested.
