Form
Twin contoured pillars aligned in a "V" configuration support speakers in style, offer superior rigidity, and provide for our Speaker Cable Management System. A snap-in curved black cover holds cables in place and hides them from both front and back view. The softly curved black base adds to the strong yet graceful appearance. Basic Foundations are available with both maple and black pillars.
Function
Basic Foundations are constructed of MDF (medium density fibercore), which is the same material that most of the finest speakers in the world use. Although significantly more expensive that plywood and particle board, MDF offers superior strength and immunity from resonance. Force-fit floor spikes further minimize resonance and provide stability in carpeting. Sanus' special triangular isolation pads are placed on the top plate for speaker protection and acoustic isolation. Available in three heights: 16", 24" and 31" to suit any speaker system.
